Voice is proud to announce a partnership with Street Theory, an award-winning creative agency that activates communities, spaces, and global brands through street-art. The partnership continues to expand on Voice’s commitment to empowering digital artists with financial, technological, and educational resources. A new virtual NFT Residency program, which will focus on the themes of street art and graffiti, will welcome 14 prolific street and contemporary artists into the Web3 space.
The Residency is co-curated by Liza Quiñonez, co-founder and CEO of Street Theory, and Kesia Ramos, curator and founder of The Art at the Table.
“We’ve put together an exciting selection of some of today’s most prolific street, graffiti, and contemporary artists whose multi-dimensional works span across large-scale murals, gallery work, vinyl toys, and design,” says Quiñonez. “Entering the NFT/ Web3 world is an amazing opportunity to expand their work and reach a global audience through technology.”
Street art is a generally novel and misunderstood segment of the art world, challenged by historical policing and bureaucracy. But it’s also “the world’s most globally accessible genre of contemporary art,” according to Artnet.
Working with Street Theory, an artist-owned agency with over 20 years of experience in large scale public art production, artist management, and more, enables us to bring street art to Web3 in a way that most benefits the artists.
Artists selected for the Residency include 123Klan, Alice Mizrachi, Decertor, Don Rimx, El Cekis, Indie184, Jc Rivera, kaNO, Marka27, Nicole Saglar, SEX el niño de las pinturas, Sheefy McFly, UPENDO, and Sydney James.
The collection will start dropping June 19 with the full collection available on June 21. The artists will be celebrated at a private event at the Edition Hotel during NFT.NYC. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Coalition for the Homeless.
