www.ccid.com: China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) has released the 15th global public blockchain technology assessment index, giving a comprehensive assessment from the technical aspect and the rankings of 35 world-famous public blockchains.

In this assessment, Waves, Dash, Komodo, which have launched important products and improved their original base-layer logic, witnessed improvements in the ranking by 7 points, 5 points, and 5 points respectively. NEO has launched a new testnet, NEO3 Preview1, and Neo-Plugin-v2.10.3. Also, NeoLine mobile wallet for Android has released version 1.0.2. Together with other important updates, these improvements have simplified codes and optimize performance and algorithm. NEO has therefore moved by five point to rank the sixth.

According to this assessment, the three major Dapp platforms–EOS, Ethereum, and TRON—have remained on top, with total index at 151.4, 138.0, and 137.8, this leading group far exceeding others. Ranking the 4th to the 11th are NULS,Lisk, NEO, STEEM, BitShares, Bitcoin, XLM, and Nebulas, with total index all above 100. Among them, the index for Bitcoin is 103.9, ranking the ninth in all the 35 public blockchains being assessed, a five-point improvement compared with the previous assessment.

Basic-tech has focused on technology readiness, which assess the functions, performance, security, and decentralized levels. In this aspect, EOS and TRON rank the top, followed by STEEM (which has seen a one point upward), BitShares and NULS. Cosmos, Ethereum Classic, Dash, neo have witnessed notable improvements, with improvements of 12 points, 9 points, 6 points, and 6 points each. The average index in the aspect of basic-tech has little changes from the previous one.

Applicability focuses on the overall support of different public blockchains on applications, including the deployment of nodes, wallets, development support and realization of apps. Here, Ethereum has improved by two points to the top, followed by NEO, TRON, NULS, and Ontology. DApp platforms have scored higher, for example, Ethereum and neo, which have been the top two. NULS, Tezos, IOTA have all seen impressive increases, going upward by 10 points, 10 points, and 8 points respectively. The overall average index has gained noticeable improvements over the previous assessment.

Creativity assesses the continual creativity, including the scale of developers, coding updates, and coding influences. In this aspect, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Lisk, EOS, and Monero rank the top 5. Komodo, ZEC, and neo have gained considerable improvement, with index increasing by 16 points, 5 points, and 5 points. Overall, the average index in this field has enjoyed a little improvement.

The assessment of global public blockchains by CCID started from the beginning of 2018, carried out by CCID (Qingdao) blockchain research institute, a subdivision of China Center for Information Industry Development, and jointly participated by CCIDwise industry software research institute, CCIDwise cyberspace security research institute, China Information Technology Security Evaluation Center, Cyberspace Security, etc. Assessments are released on a bimonthly basis.
